"I want to see my friends the Cossacks again. But this time, I want to see them riding upside down, sideways and standing on their heads!"
Cossack Stunt Riding
Dan's first wish after being crowned "King of the Circus" is to have the Cossacks reappear, and so it is. Of all the thrills and spills jam-packed into the 136th Edition of The Greatest Show On Earth®, it is perhaps these riders that revel most in the show's groundbreaking new format. As a result of the production's open configuration, these daredevil equestrians can – for the first time in an indoor venue – fully demonstrate what they describe as "extreme horsemanship." While galloping at full speed, a rider turns himself backwards in the saddle, and then forward again; another hangs from his mount's back, feigning injury, and then effortlessly rights himself; and still another slides under his horse's belly and comes up on the other side in a heart-pounding demonstration of sheer strength and skill!
